Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupressure, acupuncture, massage, cupping, gua sha, auricular acupuncture and electric-stimulation of acupuncture points are all modalities that fall within the scope of TCM. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is one of the world’s oldest medical systems and it is the true forefather of “holistic medicine.” This system asserts that health is determined by proper flow and balance of a person’s vital energy, or life force energy. This life force energy is thought to flow throughout the body along channels called meridians, and it is along these meridians that the points used in acupuncture and acupressure are found. Within TCM, there is an underlying belief that the wellness of mind and emotion is critical to the balance of energy and to overall health.

Nutrition: Advice is given to patients based upon their energetic imbalances, Asian medicine diagnosis and constitutional type.

Herbal Medicine: Herbs are prescribed based upon a patient’s diagnosis and energetic imbalances. Monica prescribes Western herbs, Chinese herbs and homeopathic remedies.

Flower Essence Therapy: Flower essences are prescribed for emotional and psychological imbalances. They can be used both as part of an energy healing session, or prescribed as a medicine to ingest. Monica is a certified Back Flower Essence practitioner.

Lifestyle Guidance: Monica provides information and advice to patients based upon the principles of Asian medicine, and the energetic imbalances that are present within the patient.
